I’m a former primary school teacher with 10 years of classroom experience, supporting children across Key Stage 2 to feel more confident and make real progress in their learning.
I trained at the University of East London, where I was awarded a PGCE with Early Years in 2017. My background in EYFS gave me a strong understanding of the foundations of learning, which I carried through into teaching both lower and upper KS2.
I’ve taught full classes of up to 32 pupils, working with children with a wide range of needs and abilities. This includes pupils preparing for and passing the 11+, as well as children who were working below age-related expectations. I have a proven track record of closing learning gaps, adapting lessons, and helping children move forward with clarity and confidence.
My teaching style is structured, encouraging, and engaging. I use clear explanations, practical activities, and games to keep children motivated and involved, while always focusing on progress.
Through Study with Steph, I now offer paired and small group online tuition for KS2 pupils, giving children the personalised support they need to thrive in their learning.

Many of the children I work with understand more than they’re able to show in the classroom — they just need time, clear explanations, and the right support.
Sessions are calm, supportive, and carefully structured so children can build skills without pressure. Working alongside one or two peers helps children gain confidence, learn from others, and take steady steps forward academically.
